My Fiancé and I moved to Huntersville just over a year ago. After living in the area for about 6 months we knew this was the place for us and wanted to buy a house. Not being from the area and not knowing too many people we were worried about finding a real estate agent. Due to some great luck we were not only able to find one great agent, but we found two in the Dynamic Duo. Jason and Matt were there from the very beginning eager to learn what we were looking for in a home and sending us many different listings in hopes of getting to know us and our interests better. We informed Jason and Matt that it would be at least 4 months before we could buy a house because of our standing lease. They said that was no problem and were very willing to help throughout the whole process. After we became serious they were there whenever we needed them. My husband and I purchased a home in August of 2007 with the help of Matt VanHoughton of the Dynamic Duo.
I met Matt when my husband and I went to an open house one weekend just to kill some time. We had been doing our own house hunting on the internet for several months, but we didn’t think home ownership was possible for us because our credit had seen better days. We had tried earlier in the year to get approved but were turned down due to our credit so we didn’t expect that we would be able to buy a house until at least 2008 (after some serious hard work on our part). We feel in love with the house we viewed at that open house and Matt immediately put us on the phone with a loan officer to answer a few simple questions to see if we would qualify to purchase the house. I was hesitant to even try because I didn’t want to be turned down yet again. Matt told us he would get back to us within a few days to let us know if we were qualified and I honestly didn’t think I would hear from Matt again. To my surprise Matt called me a few days later and told me were pre-approved! I was shocked!!
Everyday when I pull up in the driveway of MY home, I can’t believe just a few months back I pulled up in that very same driveway “just to kill time” because I didn’t think home ownership was possible for us. There are no words to describe our gratitude towards The Dynamic Duo Team. After, almost 5 months with another Realtor we only had one offer towards our home. This offer was under 10k less of our asking price, and we had no choice but to refuse this offer, and cancel our listing with the prior real estate agent.
